Greenhouse

The Greenhouse is a plot unlocked at Garden Lvl 12, accessible after completing the Carpenter's visitor offer and giving Sam a Greenhouse Blueprint.

Crops can be planted in the Greenhouse and will grow over time, resulting in large yields: planting crops in specific orientations will cause Mutations to grow, which can be analyzed for Copper at the Crop Analyzer. Similarly, Mutations can be placed in specific orientations to grow higher-level Mutations.

Overview

While in the Greenhouse, players can grow different crops and Mutations: these must be watered with a Watering Can. Crops in the Greenhouse grow while offline and can be harvested once mature.

Your Greenhouse starts up with limited slots: more can be unlocked by using an Ethereal Vine.

Mutations

Main article: Mutations

Mutations have a chance to grow in the Greenhouse when crops and other mutations are arranged in specific patterns. They can be analyzed for Copper in the Crop Analyzer.

Harvesting a mutation has a chance to drop an Ethereal Vine, which are used to unlock more slots on the Greenhouse. Once all plots are unlocked, 100 and 150 Ethereal Vines can be used to unlock a second and third Greenhouse respectively.

Some mutations will have unique effects and spreading conditions. For example, the Soggybud cannot be watered, and instead absorbs water from adjacent crops.

Crop Effects

Harvesting Crops and Mutations in the Greenhouse grants special Crop Effects to itself and adjacent crops, both positive and negative. These include:

  • Harvest Boost - Increases Yield by +20%
  • Improved Harvest Boost - Increases Yield by +30%
  • XP Boost - Increases Farming XP of adjacent crops by +20%
  • Improved XP Boost - Increases Farming XP of adjacent crops by +30%
  • Water Retain - Retains watering status of adjacent crops by +50%
  • Improved Water Retain - Retains watering status of adjacent crops by +100%
  • Immunity - Provides Immunity to negative effects
  • Effect Spread - Spreads other buffs and debuffs on the current crop to adjacent crops
  • Bonus Drops - Harvested items additionally roll from an extra loot pool
  • Harvest Loss - Decreases Yield by -20%
  • XP Loss - Reduces Farming XP of adjacent crops by -20%
  • Water Drain - Reduces watering status of nearby crops by -30%

Growth Stages and Water Levels

As crops grow in the Greenhouse, they will grow in set Growth Stages. You can see the timer when viewing a planted crop or a mutation in the Greenhouse using a Plant Diagnostics Tool.

Growth Stages usually take 4h by default. This can be increased by the following upgrades:

  • Growth Speed - +5-50%
  • Crop Growth - +0-200
  • Planting 12 unique crop types in the Greenhouse - +5-60%
    • NOTE: All Greenhouse plots will be affected by this, not just the plot that the crops are planted in.

With all bonuses applied, the Growth Stage timer will be reduced to 1hr 44m 20s.

Consuming a Rosewater Flask allows players to advance all plants and mutations of the Greenhouse they are standing in by up to 4 Growth Stages. This only affects the Greenhouse plot that the player is physically in, and has a co-op wide cooldown of 2hr to prevent boosting.

Harvest Bounty

Harvesting items in the Greenhouse has a chance to roll for a Harvest Bounty. The following items can be obtained:

  • Ethereal Vine
  • Burrowing Spores
  • Evergreen Chip
  • Synthetic Chip
  • Iridium
  • Overgrown Grass
